Song workshop, Dec 2010, with Nancy Kerr

Nancy is inspired by great traditional singers past and present.  In this workshop she explored approaches to repertoire, vocal techniques such as decoration and tone, storytelling, authenticity and emotion in folk song.  Here's some of the feedback:
  • Very enjoyable, relaxed environment and informative – finding a different way of working with modes particularly useful.  It was also lovely to sing in harmony with everyone. 
  • Very enjoyable and useful.  Nancy is a very good teacher and I’m going away feeling inspired to do more singing. 
  • Very engaging teacher and presenter responsive to people’s queries but also conscious to include lots of singing.  A really good mix. 
  • Lovely, useful workshop.  Really nice to learn new songs and analyse them re harmony and augmentation.  So awesome to hear Nancy sing!  Inspiring. 
  • A really enjoyable day.  Nancy is an excellent workshop leader.  The day was very informative – a good balance of singing and learning about technique.  It will really help me perform.
