From Christine McMahon’s lips tumble stories of the North Country which she tells with passion and joy. With a twinkle in her eye she will bring to Storytelling Cafe magical stories from the handsome, mischievous rag and bone man to the magical spindle, needle and shuttle of the hand loom weaver. Folk Tales and stories live in the urban landscape of mills and mines as much as in the realms of woodlands and fairy dells. Christine’s fresh lively storytelling draws on fairytales and folklore from the north of England's harsh past.
She is a popular figure taking her stories to Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada. Tonight she is with us at Storytelling Café.
