If you want to help bring back the popular Folkwaves programme, presented for over 25 years by Mick Peat and Lester Simpson on BBC Radio Derby, now is your chance.

Over 1000 signatures have been collected so far on a petition for presentation to BBC Local Radio Management to show the tremendous support from East Midland BBC licence payers – but we need loads more.

East Midland Folk Club Organisers – would you be willing to collect signatures in your folk club?

East Midland Folk Festival Organisers – would you allow 2 volunteers to collect signatures at your festival event?

East Midland folk fans – would you be willing to volunteer to collect signatures at folk festival events, if we provide you with the publicity and petitions?

To everyone else – the larger the petition the better and if you would be willing to collect signatures in your neck of the woods, that would be fantastic.
