Can there ever have been a time when we need gentle, collaborative activities more than now? Traditional activities have always had deep meaning for people, going back to recently discovered rock art in Indonesia dating 45,000 years ago. But the songs? The stories, dance and music? Evidence suggests that these also date back to prehistoric times and have continued in an unbroken thread to this present day. These are the things that unite us, provide continuity and passion in our lives. It's why the Trad Arts Team continues to run events both live and online, maintaining the unbroken thread of material made by people to be shared and enjoyed by everyone.
Before the world gets knocked back 45,000 years why not raise your voice at a COP26 demo near you – here’s the one in Birmingham, but similar events are taking place all over the world, so wherever you live you can still take part.
